At the heart of the filter: In the blue filter sponges, the smallest bacteria perform at their best, because toxic substances are biologically converted into harmless but algae-stimulating ones (nitrification cation). At a high flow rate, the sponges also filter out larger particles and thus clean the pond water. Together with the red and green filter sponges, they demonstrate clean filter performance.
